Tom isn’t one for downtime, or studio backlots apparently! Right on the heels of Rock of Ages, and in the midst of the promotional ramp up for Jack Reacher, he’s spending his days on a volcano in Iceland putting the final touches on Universal’s Oblivion.(‘Oblivion’ studio news here.)
Although he has just stepped out of the klieg lights of the arena-rock stage, the Sci-Fi genre is nothing new for Tom. His work in Minority Report and War of the Worlds is some of his most popular, and from the sound of it (synopsis below), Oblivion should be another classic.

The Sound Of Oblivion
Director Joseph Kosinski is known for his interesting composer selections. For Tron: Legacy he went against the grain and recruited Daft Punk to handle the music. What on the surfaced seemed a little risky turned out to be a aural success. For Oblivion, Kosinski is again trying something new: The French electronic act M83.The bands frontman, Anthony Gonzalez, says he is ready for the challenge:
“I’m always trying to push myself and I try to do it with my studio albums, and now this is a new adventure, so I’m going to push myself even harder, and try to surprise people and move people with my music.”
