Tom Cruise Movies From The 80′s Return To The Silver Screen

Top Gun Tom Cat Shot

On any given day—mixed in with monster truck races and cupcake cooking shows—you can find a Tom Cruise movie playing somewhere on network television or on one of the hundreds of stations populating cable. After all, with 30 years in the business, Tom has amassed a large and engaging treasure trove of films.

Less likely, however, is the chance to catch one of Tom’s 80′s classics on the silver screen. Well, fans lucky enough to have the Movie Tavern theatre chain in their town can experience Tom at his early best.

Movie Tavern’s  Retro Cinema series presents “Cruising Through the 80′s”, a screening of early Tom Cruise movies. From now until the end of the month, you can watch Stefan Djordjevic (All The Right Moves), Jack, a mystical forest dweller (Legend), and Pete Mitchell, aka Maverick (Top Gun) tear up the silver screen in the performances that show Tom growing into the accomplished actor he would become.

If you’ve ever wanted to experience the thrill of Top Gun in the theatre or have wanted to relive that experience for more than 25 years, now’s your chance. For a reminder, and a motivator, check out these clips from each of the movies.
