    Topgun. I kept this movie in a portable dvd under the seat of my car. i guess at one point my husband found it and didnt tell me. he just put it back. He went to work and told his coworkers.. “If you want to get your wife all hot and bothered buy her the movie Topgun. He even knew the scene i loved. It was the one where Maverick had the girlfriend pinned against the wall and the top button of his jeans were undone. Nothing pornographic about it, but every time i see it it gets my blood racing :)

    It’s not what people would ordinarily consider a “romantic” film, but I’d have to say the movie I’d most like to see is “Grumpy Old Men” (the first one).  I had proposed to my wife a little over 18 years ago, in the middle of a big time snowstorm.  We decided we wanted to brave the elements and go out to a movie.  We saw “Grumpy Old Men” as that movie.  We still joke how we were the “youngsters” on that day, since the audience of the film were mostly senior citizens!  It was still so romantic to spend that time together with my fiancee!

    I’d like to watch “An officer and a Gentleman” because that’s how my husband went to visit me on Valentines day at work! He was deployed and I haven’t seen him in 3 months, he surprised me wearing his blues, making head turns all the way to my office. It was the best day ever. This movie would bring back those memories. It’s a great romantic film that is NOT a chick flick :)

    You’ve got mail ! Its the first movie my husband and I ever seen together and it’s exactly how we met. We have been together ever since. Married with 2 children now and on our anniversary we watch it to remind us of how we came together.

    My husband of 17.5yrs and I love to watch any funny movie together. Ace Ventura is one of the best movies to make us laugh! (and yes it dates us..lol). The happiness from laughing brings us closer together and in a great mood.

    I’d like to watch its a wonderful life because it’s wonderful to be married to someone who is a hard worker and a great mom, I’m greatfull because I lost my job after being hit by a drunk driver, and she is the only one working and the bills have her down, the foreclosure has her beat down but I still am greatfull for her after 13 years of marriage of all movies I’ve seen I think this one sums it up

    Strangely enough, I always loved “Roxanne.”  The modern twist on the Cyrano de Bergerac story was simply told, lyric and understated.  I never tire of watching watch Steve Martin’s C,D, Bales woo Daryl Hannah’s Roxanne beneath her window and through artfully written letters that melted her heart and moved her to see the man behind the nose.

    It’s not, I suppose, a #Romantic film but I adore the first date scene in Its A Wonderful Life when they’re at the school dance. It was sweet and innocent good fun (until it was sadly interrupted on the walk home).

    I would choose TOP GUN because it´s my favourite romantic movie of all times. I was only 12 when i first saw  it!! The soundtrack… the airplanes… the drama… 
    That is an amzing movie, and the relationship between maverick and Charlie… made me believe in love and passion, and that´s the kind of love and passion that i still seek…. Beautiful!

     There’s a lot of those Romance movies I haven’t seen on the imdb.com 90s+ list, but I still saw a good number of them, but to stay on topic from… some of those I love… Peter Pan should have been on that list, bozos at imdb.com!

    I’d pick the Lake House, since I have never seen it, it has Keanu Reeves, it’s fictional story, and a friend of mine, special to the other one I ended up loving the most, his mom said she really liked that movie in one of the only times I ever visited their new house… probably a funny only 50ft closer from a quarter mile away. However, that choice still is born from a bitter reality.

    There were those lovely times I have seen and also related greatly to movies like Love Actually, where the boy is in love, and Liam Neeson asks him if it’s another boy he’s going to pursue in the course of the movie, as well as Slumdog Millionaire where he strives a good quarter of his life looking for that one love Latika. That feeling of seriously needing to just see that one person again walking, almost oblivious as you are to how they might feel, but those feelings seem to have died down on all the anxiety, oppression, and depression, which caused me to believe I am supposed to fall in love with someone else as in the movie Charlie St. Cloud. To fall back to my guilty pleasures of witnessing death, my inner feelings desire all that whirls into that yield, not exactly death itself.

    Therefore, … if I was going to watch a romantic movie with my soul mate, I wouldn’t be excited, as who would, when you are deeply humbled in the moment you watch such a movie with that somebody? Every time I would replay a clip of Kurt Cobain screeching Smells Like Teen Spirit after a clip of him meeting Kim Gordon with Sonic Youth , I was thinking of that friend I loved as soon as, or soon after, listening to it! Kurt; the only musician I would just be excited to see standing there like that in broad daylight audience, as just the light getting brighter on that one boy. It’s like even though such feelings kind of are coming back, it’s not an easy choice to what movie to decide, besides one that I wouldn’t mind watching when all shit is down, and I’m not excited to see any movie.

    Upon that recognition of feelings, it might be Titanic, especially since Leonardo didn’t need to be let go before he died, since he froze to death. It’s kind of like King Kong, the one I was really pondering about, because that’s how I mostly felt all these years: Hanging on, never feeling better about anything, and timely feeling like I am getting shot in my back, wondering if I am going to let go and die while still alive. That would be the most depressing part of my life, even if I could say I’ve had worse when I was becoming sad over the moments we weren’t having together anymore when I still hung out with him.

    However, that sadness was beautiful. When things get too strong, some people might commit suicide, but on the side of any suicidal thought I ever had, I would hear beautiful music in my head like Silent Night, and see happiness at the pit bottom of that beauty(I mean darkness) as if I already died. That’s when the choice comes in: Titanic. I had already seen King Kong enough to know how I feel about dying in the end, as Titanic also ends that way, but there’s more to see in Titanic in its entirety, after all these years of getting older and smarter. That’s not the main reason why I’d watch it with him. Those scenes we see in movies that have us come back to them are circulated by the other scenes to express climax, so when the guy shoots himself for accidentally shooting one of the self-appointed passengers boarding a life boat, it reminds me of being angry at who I loved while playing football in his backyard, and shoving him away from me, accidentally hitting his knee. He was on the ground, trying to keep the pain from getting any worse, until he closed his eyes in pain, I said “I’m sorry,” but I wanted to die after doing that. I wanted to go home and do nothing, but think and be sad, but I stayed and watched who seemed to be able to care more for him than I would, no matter how deeply in love I was in with him.

    Besides, even though the pizazz of Titanic is far lower than the excitement and collage of love moments as depicted in Love Actually, Titanic is definitely a movie that affected me in my child hood memories, possibly making movies such as King Kong, Hitch, Peter Pan, Love Actually, 50 First Dates, or even one subtly: The Boy in Striped Pajamas, more passionate to watch. Although it seems much of my passion is lost, it’s really my ability to cry, or my yield to death and no interest, that helps me learn what I love the most. It’s not my mom’s business to control how I feel by her presence and misfortune she helped cause me in order to be apathetic enough to fuck her female pawns, which I didn’t do, and do ONE thing WORST of all in my entire life ALREADY gone past because of the shit she neglected to take care for BY LEAVING ME ALONE; which is ALLL they had to do; ALLLLLL they had to do was LEAVE ME ALONE like a nuclear radiation site. Yes; at home, but now: I must still make the choices important to me in these very moments in these minutes that bled to discover that the bore, darkness, and sadness of Titanic is indeed the movie I’d watch, even though I am ALWAYS at war with my expectations so I CAN ACTUALLY enjoy something coming my way.

    My favorite romantic movies of all time would be “The Mirror Has Two Faces” and “Jerry McGuire” because they both tell th story of how one love can endure inspite of all the shortcomings or imperfections in each other’s personality, be it physical or emotional attributes and to be able to accept each other for who he/she really is.

    Or the movie starring Tom Cruise when she said, “You had me at Hello,” because the one I loved used to “joke” to me in a funny way by saying “shut up, Joe just shut up” just like her, probably because we know we both saw Hitch, which featured a scene from that movie. I never saw that movie before, and that’s exactly how this is, especially since I can’t  accept myself any better without him and his memory. At least he understands more than I understand; that for sure, even if  it’s something I can’t stand facing.

    Definitely the most romantic movie is Pride and Prejudice (2005). I watch it at least once a year with my “sweetheart” – my daughter. It’s cast is perfect, the music lingers in my head days after, and Joe Wright filmed it in such a way that it’s like watching a moving painting. It’s perfect.

    I don’t have a sweetheart right now but I would definitely choose Jerry Maguire. It shows that sometime one may become blinded by certain facts before seeing what something really is. What may at first appear to be one thing is a something completely different and heartfelt. Jerry shows that even though he struggles to make it, feel departed, work between Dorothy. Couples will fight, they will have issues that seem almost impossible to get over, but when they do they make their bond even stronger. It may be difficult to see at first but the love is still there. The first fights will always be the hardest but if a couple could make compromise they are becoming stronger not only as individuals but as friends/lovers

    I have two favorites.  My wife and I love Knight And Day because it is filled with action, comedy, and great romantic lines like “With me, without me. With me, without me.”  Then I have to say that Cocktail is my long-time favorite with that romantic feeling of flying off to Kokomo – “We’ll get there fast, and then we’ll take it slow.”  The movie shows some real-life drama with relationships, but ends with a great speech by Tom that shows romance between a couple isn’t just about each other, but being a good parent,  “But still, if our child is the naughtiest of girls or the wildest of young men…. I swear I’ll be the best dad I can.”  And since my wife and I started our marriage with TWINS 13 years ago, this one hits home with us.  I love you LuAnn!  (Love you too Tom, but in a different way)

    Most romantic movie of all time…. An Affair to Remember or Always or Jerry Maguire and here is why…I can’t pick one because each of the three represent love at its finest…. Overcoming adversity and staying all in despite life changing injury, loss of a loved one (and carrying that love with the promise of a new love), learning and growing and in the process believing in who you are and what can be alone and with the right someone …taking a chance in life and in love as all 3 movies show us. My sweethearts…. My grown sons and daughters ….because in life, as in mine, love for all the right reasons is worth putting your heart out there, to stand by, be all in no matter the circumstances, no matter the obstacles, and even in the passing if a loved one the gift they leave behind makes us able to appreciate what is possible how the gift of anothers heart is priceless….and worth having in our lives. “Winter must be cold for those with no warm memories” “I know now that the love we hold back is the only pain that follows us here” “hey I don’t have all the answers.     Oh, Jerry Maguire is sooo romantic. I am a single mother, my daughter is older than little Ray, but I really identify with Dorothy. Every time I watch that (actually just last night…) I see Jerry through her eyes. He is so sweet, yet a tiny bit neurotic at first because of his epiphany, he loves her son and he is so hot it makes your her spin! The only sweetheart I watch it with is my daughter and we both have little cartoon hearts popping out of our heads when he walks in and says, “I’m lookin for my wife.” I find myself holding my breath every time! :) Thanks Tom!
