Paramount has dropped a punishing 4-minute clip from the latest M:I installment right into our laps!
Playing sticky digits on the Burj Khalifa was just one of the high-flying stunts in M:I4. Here watch Ethan Hunt (Cruise), enveloped in a hellacious sandstorm, mix it up mano-a-mano with the enemy (who says hi-tech super goggles look geeky?), eat the windshield of an on-coming bimmer, then cling to its roof and mete out a fair amount of head trauma to the bad guy. When it looks like the jig is up, he abandons ship just as a concrete abutment threatens to erase one of his three dimensions. Back on foot, Hunt – goggles firmly fastened to face – ‘borrows’ his own bimmer, T-bones it into a center median, puts it back in high gear and runs it headlong into his assailant’s car — once again abandoning ship a second before becoming a statistic. And that’s just 4-minutes worth.
Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol
Blamed for the terrorist bombing of the Kremlin, IMF operative Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is disavowed along with the rest of the agency when the President initiates “Ghost Protocol.” Left without any resources or backup, Ethan must find a way to clear his agency’s name and prevent another attack. To complicate matters further, Ethan is forced to embark on this mission with a team of fellow IMF fugitives whose personal motives he does not fully know.
Directed by two-time Academy Award winner Brad Bird, ‘Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol’ stars Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Paula Patton, Michael Nyqvist, Vladimir Mashkov, Josh Holloway, Anil Kapoor and Léa Seydoux. ‘Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol’ is in theaters and IMAX on December 21, 2011.
