‘Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol’ Kicks Off Dubai Film Festival

Paramount Pictures and the festival organization announced the fourth installment of the ‘Mission: Impossible’ film franchise would kick off this year’s Dubai International Film Festival, which runs December 7 to 14, 2011. Tom Cruise, director Brad Bird and several other members of the film’s cast are scheduled to walk the red carpet at the festival.

‘Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol’ features several action-packed scenes filmed in Dubai, including Tom scaling the Burj Khalifa. The international cast stars Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Paula Patton, Michael Nyqvist, Vladimir Mashkov, Josh Holloway, Anil Kapoor and Léa Seydoux, which makes the Dubai International Film Festival an ideal event to showcase the film!

Encouraging a cultural exchange through cinema, the Dubai International Film Festival is under the patronage of UAE vice president and ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

In ‘Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol,’ the IMF team is strategically situated around Red Square to execute their mission, when an explosion suddenly rocks the Kremlin. The leader of the IMF team, ‘Ethan Hunt’ (Tom Cruise), is informed that the Russians believe the incident is “an undeclared act of war” and the U.S. President has initiated “Ghost Protocol.” Blamed for the bombing in Moscow and disavowed by the President, the surviving members of the team, ‘Ethan,’ ‘Brandt’ (Jeremy Renner), ‘Benji Dunn’ (Simon Pegg) and ‘Jane Carter’ (Paula Patton) operate off the grid to uncover the truth.

‘Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol’ will be released in IMAX theaters on December 16th and premieres nationwide on December 21, 2011.
