Complex magazine has released their list of Top 50 Best Sci-Fi Movies, and among them is Steven Spielberg’s Minority Report, which stars movie icon Tom Cruise. The film is based on a short story by Philip K. Dick, who is regarded as one of the most influential sci-fi writers of all time.
In addition to the captivating story line, Minority Report included some of the most impressive futuristic technology, including retinal scanning and giant interactive computer displays. The movie left us wondering how much of it would actually become reality, so 10 years later, tech website The Next Web has taken a look at what it is calling “The Minority Report Era”.
The Complex Magazine Top 50 list includes, among others, Steven Spielberg’s “Close Encounters of the Third Kind”, “Jurassic Park”, and “ET: The Extra Terrestrial”. “A Space Odyssey” from Stanley Kubrick, who collaborated with Tom Cruise in the film “Eyes Wide Shut”, and the films “Alien” and “Blade Runner” from Ridley Scott, who also produced the movie “Legend”.
