As the team at TomCruise.com reported earlier in the year, Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol co-star Jeremy Renner was nominated for an Academy Award owing to his work on the heist movie, The Town. While Renner wound up not winning the Oscar for Best Actor in a Supporting Role – his second Academy nomination in two years – he did reveal to the reporters from Access Hollywood some of his experience working on the latest installment in the Mission: Impossible series.
The team at TomCruise.com is obviously disappointed Tom’s collaborator on Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol didn’t take home the hardware, which went to Christian Bale for his terrific performance in The Fighter. In a show of class all the way around, Renner spent some time on the red carpet at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood on Sunday answering questions about his current work with Tom, Simon Pegg and director Brad Bird on the spy thriller.
His experience in a word: “Awesome.”
Take a look below at the footage from the glamor-filled evening leading to one of the biggest nights for the entertainment industry during the year:
How nice is he! We think Mr. Renner is also an awesome guy, with major-league acting chops and the work ethic to go as far as he wants in this business. As an fan can tell from the video, between the stunts and physical nature of shooting with Tom on Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, it’s a demanding job. And one we can’t wait to see complete and polished on the big screen this year!
