Diaz looks set to exercise both her quick wit and fists in support of The Green Hornet, played by veteran comedian Rogen in his first action role. Cameron was cast as Lenore Case, the charming and supportive secretary to the Green Hornet that can also bust a roundhouse kick if the situation calls for it. Anyone who saw Knight and Day knows Diaz dishes out jokes and action in equal measure.
The Green Hornet is based on the popular radio dramas, movie serials and comics dating back to the 1940s, with Rogen taking the titular role as the legendary crime fighter. Just to catch you up on some of the The Green Hornet backstory: Rogen plays Britt Rei, the playboy son of a wealthy publisher found murdered. He creates the Green Hornet guise out of his need for justice to avenge his father’s death.
The Green Hornet has back-up in the form of Kato – played by Chou – a martial arts master and weapons expert who fronts as a chauffeur. Together, the duo rights wrongs that allude standard policing.
In this film version of The Green Hornet, Rogen takes on a diabolical Christoph Waltz, who plays Mafia boss Benjamin Chudnofsky. Waltz is known widely for his menace, having scored the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his villainous performance in 2009′s Inglorious Basterds.
