Tom Cruise announced the title of latest Mission: Impossible movie: “Ghost Protocol.” Tom revealed the title in a press conference in Dubai, UAE, on the occasion of filming the latest edition to the action movie franchise in the Middle Eastern metropolis.
The announcement follows months of pre-production, with Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol only recently completing principal photography in Prague, Czech Republic. (View Tom’s personal thank you to the People of Prague for their support of the filming, here.)
In regards to filming in Dubai, Tom remarked, “Dubai is very cinematic, so we are happy to be here.”
Also, in response to questions surrounding the production location of the Burj Khalifa (the tallest building and structure in the world at over a half-mile high), Tom said, “I’ll be spending many days, many hours on the side of this building,”
“I can’t give you details, but I will be up there,” he said.
Tom is co-producing Ghost Protocol along with Mission Impossible III director and Bad Robot chief, J. J. Abrams. The duo also penned the original story for the fourth installment in the film series, with Bad Robot screenwriters Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec manning the script.
Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol is slated for theatrical release in 2011.
