Katie Holmes took to the red carpet with husband Tom Cruise for the national premiere opening of The Romantics, her new movie! The star couple hit the event at The Film Society at Lincoln Center in New York City to celebrate the opening of Katie’s leading role in the movie based on the novel by director Galt Niederhoffer.
Joining Katie and Tom at The Romantics premiere was leading man Josh Duhamel, along with hyper-talented co-stars Elijah Wood, Adam Brody and Malin Akerman. The movie opens in Los Angeles and New York on Friday, September 10. You can grab tickets to see The Romantics online through Fandango or MovieTickets.com. In the film, Katie plays opposite Duhamel and Anna Paquin in the romantic drama as the third side to a heart-breaking love triangle. Katie’s character was previously involved with Duhamel’s, but is attending his wedding her best friend, played by Paquin! You may want to bring eye protection when the sparks start to fly.

Niederhoffer wrote the original novel, and set the story among a set of college friends reuniting for the wedding. The ensemble cast also includes Glee star Dianna Agron and Emmy-winner Candice Bergen. The Romantics garnered attention during its world debut this year at the Sundance Film Festival.
