Tom Cruise was awarded with the Screen Icon Award at the National Movie Awards!
According to BBC News, Tom Cruise picked up the Screen Icon Award from actress and presenter Gwyneth Paltrow. “For over two decades he has shown a bold eagerness to take risks, engaging and enthralling audiences,” she said when presenting the award.
During Tom’s acceptance speech, he said, “It’s a real honor for me to be here tonight. This great city of London. This great country England. I’ve made several films here. I have been fortunate.”
“I do believe it’s the role of the artist to provide that sometimes needed sense of relief from it all, be it joy, happiness, or a rollercoaster ride that electrifies our senses.”
“I guess as a filmmaker the most important thing to me is you,” said Tom. “If I have entertained you at all, I thank you. Thank you for allowing me to do so.”
