From the Official www.TomCruise.com:
The release of the new Band Hero video game from Activision is exciting…the kind of exciting that makes you want to strip down to your undies and slide across your floor like Tom Cruise in ‘Risky Business‘!
Well, if you did that, it might scare the neighbors. But country darling Taylor Swift teamed up with Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, and Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz to film a commercial for the game that pays tribute to the infamous ‘Risky Business’ dance.
“It’s hard to slide into once place and kinda try to look cool and do it on a beat,” said Wentz to MTV about recreating the film scene. “It’s not an easy thing to do. It would change up, ’cause they’d Lysol the floor and it’d be slicker…so sometimes I’d go way too far. And then they put down an adhesive to make sure I wouldn’t go too far, and when I hit that, I’d just wipe out…no one’s ever gonna do it as well as Tom.”
Judge for yourself who slides better by watching the Band Hero TV commercial below (we like Tom more, but hey, we’re biased
):
They’re not the only ones doing the ‘Risky Business‘ dance. Check out this clip from “George Lopez Tonight” — fast forward to 2:50 to see George Lopez and Marc Anthony rockin’ out to Bog Seger in their underwear (the rest of the video is pretty funny, with George breaking everything in Marc’s house, including J.Lo’s Moon Man from the MTV Music Awards):
And of course, this isn’t the first time ‘Risky Business’ was featured in a commercial. Check out the commercials for last year’s Guitar Hero World Tour with “Project Runway” host Heidi Klum, Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps, baseballer Alex Rodriguez, skateboard legend Tony Hawk, and basketball star Kobe Bryant:
