Boston TV Anchor Playing Newsman in New Tom Cruise Movie

The cameras on Tom Cruise’s new movie, the untitled film directed by James Mangold and starring Cameron Diaz, have been rolling for a while now, using locations in and around Massachusetts to help make the movie. While some scenes filmed just required extras in the background, other scenes need something more — which is why Boston Casting called WBZ-TV anchor Scott Wahle to play a TV newsman in the movie!

According to the Boston Globe, Wahle will play the role of an MSNBC newsman reporting on an airplane crash (possibly the one that was filmed out in Bridgewater?). Wahle said, “It all happened in about 48 hours,” said Wahle. “I got the call, I auditioned, and then they called me and said I had the part.” I wish getting into the movies was that easy!

Did you watch Scott Wahle read the news? Excited to see a local in Tom’s new film? Sound off in the comments below!

‘Vanilla Sky’ has changed my life,
    At ‘Valkyrie’ I sadly cried,
You say ‘Wichita’, I say ‘Great!’
Tom Cruise does something I can’t wait!
