Rumor Killer! Tom Cruise NOT Starring in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit

Time to kill the rumors: Tom Cruise is not starring in Peter Jackson’s ‘The Hobbit.’

Tom Cruise stopped over in New Zealand to visit directors Peter Jackson and Guillermo Del Toro, both of who are working on ‘The Hobbit’ (Jackson is producing, Del Toro is directing). Tom was on his way to Melbourne to see his wife Katie Holmes, who is currently filming the horror movie ‘Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark,’ which was written and is being produced by Del Toro.

The visit was just a friendly hello to the ‘Lord of the Rings’ director. The two took a tour of Jackson’s studio, Weta Workshop, and looked around at Jackson’s vintage plane collection. FYI: Cruise is an avid aerobatic pilot who has multiple ratings (licenses), including commercial, multi-instrument, and multi-engine.

By the way, they’re still looking to cast Bilbo Baggins in ‘The Hobbit’ (hence, the rumors). Any suggestions? Sound off in the comments below!
