On August 5, 1983, a teen comedy came out in theaters during the summer starring an up-and-coming actor named Tom Cruise who had been previously seen in ‘Taps’ with Timothy Hutton, George C. Scott and Sean Penn. Turns out that movie helped launched an unbelievable acting career for Tom that has spanned over the last two decades. So with that in mind, bust out your Ray Bans, slick your floors and strip down to your undies — it’s the 26-year anniversary of ‘Risky Business‘! (Uh, about the underwear part…make sure you close the curtains first.)

Fun Film Facts:
The film earned Tom a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor. Since then, he has earned six other Golden Globe nominations, winning two Golden Globe Awards for ‘Born on the Fourth of July’ and ‘Jerry Maguire,’ as well as an award for Best Supporting Actor in ‘Magnolia.’
